Making the MLS work under Vista
Microsoft’s new operating system has a problem with a file called
Cacher Class which controls the Advanced Search. We need to
disable it to get it to work under Vista.
1. Log out of MLS and close any extra browser windows that are
open.
2. Go to the top of your browser and find “Tools” then “Manage
Add-ons” then select “Enable or Disable Add-ons”.
3. You will see Show: with a pulldown next to it. Select the
pulldown and choose “Downloaded ActiveX Controls (32-bit)”.
4. In the window below you will see Cacher Class. Click on it
once so it is highlighted (turns blue).
5. Below this window you will see Settings. Click on Disable and
click OK to exit back to the main browser window.
6. Close down the browser and restart it. Log into the MLS and go
to Search->Advance MLS. You will get a message asking you
to enable the Cacher Class file. Do not enable it.
7. To see if it is working correctly, just choose STATUS: Active
and do a “COUNT” it should give you a huge number.
