URGENT Call for Action: Ohio House set to vote in a few hours
May 24, 2016
There are only a few hours left before the Ohio House votes on the real estate industry’s #1 legislative issue…and we need your immediate help and participation in a critical “Call for Action” that is currently underway. Simply Click Here and you will help us move Ohio’s real estate industry forward.
Yesterday afternoon the Ohio House of Representative’s Commerce and Labor Committee–by a wide margin–sided with OAR, the Ohio Division of Real Estate and Professional Licensing, Ohio Real Estate Commission and the 23 Community Colleges across Ohio in approving a bill that will update the state’s licensing structure and modernize pre-licensure real estate education.
The full House is expected to vote on HB 532 this afternoon and your State Representative needs to hear from you–NOW–that passing HB 532 is an important step forward for Ohio.
This bill strengthens Ohio’s already stringent pre-licensure requirements, while giving aspiring licensees the choice of taking the course in the classroom or on-line. Regardless, the 120 hours of coursework must be offered by an Institution of Higher Education and will be subject to significant review and oversight.
Contrary to the desperate arguments the bill’s primary opponent is currently using – HB 532 does NOT have loopholes , will NOT result in unregulated education and certainly has meaningful safeguards to prevent “click through education.”
What HB 532 will do is broaden the availability, accessibility and affordability of pre-licensure real estate education – giving aspiring licensees a choice that best meets their respective needs.
