FHA TO REFI UNDERWATER BORROWERS

The Federal Housing Administration will launch a program on Sept. 7 that will allow underwater homeowners who are current on a non-FHA loan to refinance into an FHA-backed loan when their lender agrees to write off at least 10 percent of their principal. 

The FHA Short Refinance program, originally announced in March, is designed to help homeowners in markets that have seen large declines in home values refi nance into "a safer, more secure" mortgage, FHA Commissioner David Stevens said in a statement.

The FHA today published a letter providing guidance to lenders on implementing the program, which is voluntary and requires the consent of all lien holders.

The borrower's existing first lien holder must agree to a "short payoff," writing off at least 10 percent of their unpaid principal balance. The refinanced FHA-insured first mortgage must have a loan-to-value ratio of no more than 97.75 percent.

TBR TO INTERVIEW CANDIDATES RUNNING FOR STATE OFFICE

The Legislative and Governmental Affairs Committee will be conducting interviews on August 12 of the candidates running for State Office. The committee will then suggest to the Ohio RPAC Trustees which candidates they feel would best represent the Real Estate Business in NW Ohio.  The Trustees would then determine how much in RPAC contributions the candidates would receive.

The names of the candidates are below.  We are asking for input from you, our members, on your thoughts regarding the candidates.

2010-2011 MLS PARTICIPATION FEE

If you made a partial payment, your 2nd half payment of $176.14 is to be made by September 2, 2010 at 5:00 pm. If it is not made, you will be assessed a $25.00 late fee and membership will be suspended.

If you have not made any payment towards your MLS Fees, a late fee of $25.00 has been assessed and you must make payment no later than September 2, 2010 at 5:00 of the $377.28. 

TBR BOARD OF DIRECTORS - 5 SEATS OPEN FOR 2011 - 2013

Searching for nominees to run for REALTOR seats on the TBR Board of Directors.  Five directors will be elected in October to serve a 3 year term- 2011, 2012, and 2013. 

The major function of the Board is to establish Board policy and procedure.  Applicants must be a REALTOR member of TBR and shall have had at least 3 years experience in Real Estate and must have served on at least one committee or task force or attend any other program(s) deemed appropriate by the Nominating Committee.   This committe will meet the latter part of August to select at least 1 and no more than 2 candidates for each of the five vacancies.  TBR must recieve the application no later then August 20.

TBR MAGAZINE GOING ON-LINE

The Board of Directors voted at their last meeting to publish the TBR REALTOR Magazine online rather than printed and mailed out.  You should be receiving your Summer Issue in the mail this week.  This will be the last printed issue of the magazine.  The summer issue will also be online. A link will be placed on our website and an email with the link will also be sent to you. Going digital allows us to include links to more information on various articles as well as links directly to our advertisers and to photos and videos of TBR events and other items of interest. You will also be able to print out the whole magazine or just certain pages that you are interested in.  You can even forward the magazine or articles from it to others.

Watch your emails later this week for a link to the first online edition of the REALTOR Magazine.

REALTOR AND CITIZEN OF YEAR

Do you know of someone who has distinguished themselvers by their voluntary service to TBR, this individual is someone who has servced on various committees or on the Board of Directors.  If so, nominate them for TBR's REALTOR OF THE YEAR.

We are also looking for candidates for TBR's Citizen of the Year- someone who has been very involved in a voluntary capacity in the community.
