TOLEDO BOARD OF REALTORS MEMBER SURVEY RESULTS
NEW EARNEST MONEY LAW
In, 2009, Governor Strickland signed into law legislation that provides greater statutory authority and options to brokers regarding the handling of disputed earnest money. This legislation was the result of an Ohio Association of REALTORS Task Force that studied the problems created when a transaction fails to close and the parties cannot agree on who is entitled to the earnest money.
The new legislation is highlighted in yellow- pages 3 - 7.
