COMMITTEE INFORMATION
Commercial/Industrial Committee
Provides a forum through which members of the Board who are in the Commercial/Industrial field of real estate can meet and discuss areas of mutual concern.
- Develops and implements educational programs of interest to the Commercial/Industrial members of the Board.
Education Committee
- Studies ways and means for training and education whereby members may be afforded the opportunity to improve their knowledge and competence in real estate.
- Encourages and assists those responsible for organization and presentation of real estate training programs.
- Stimulates in young people an interest in real estate as a profession.
- Assists colleges and universities in developing and presenting real estate courses.
- Coordinates and cooperates with the OAR and NAR Departments of Education and Departments of Research in regard to matters that may need study.
- Develops and sponsors continuing education programs that meet the 30-hour educational requirements of the Ohio Division of Real Estate.
- Promotes to the members the continuing education courses sponsored by the Toledo Board of REALTORS®.
Affordable Housing & Cultural Diversity Committee
- Informs and assists members in their understanding and responsibilities in giving equal service to clients and customers.
- Implements programs that address affordable housing issues.
- Develops and enhances opportunities for multicultural buyers, sellers and real estate agents.
Grievance Committee
(Presidential Appointment Only)
- Composed of 15 members appointed for a three-year period by the Board President.
- Mandatory annual training to serve on this committee.
- Reviews all ethics complaints and requests for arbitration that are filed with the Board to determine whether they warrant a formal hearing.
- Frequently members of this committee move onto a three-year term on the Professional Standards Committee.
Professional Standards Committee
(Presidential Appointment Only)
- Composed of 15 members appointed for a three-year term by the Board President.
- Mandatory annual training to serve on this committee.
- From those 15, three are chosen to make up a hearing panel for any ethics or arbitration hearing which is held at the Board.
The Legislative and Governmental
Affairs Committee
(Presidential Appointment Only)
- Concerns itself with all matters relating to real property taxation and legislation at the local level.
- Cooperates with OAR and NAR in matters relating to real property taxation and legislation.
- Makes recommendations to the Directors concerning issues which should be supported or opposed, and implements such procedures.
- Works closely with all committees on legislative matters of mutual concern.
- Provides encouragement and information that can enable members to become effective politically.
- Encourages members to run for elective office and to serve on appointed governmental bodies.
- Supports, on a non-partisan basis, candidates who are dedicated to the free enterprise system.
- Interviews candidates for local public office for the purpose of making recommendations for support through RPAC to the Directors.
RPAC Fundraising
- Plans and organizes a membership fund raising drive for RPAC.
